A Vietnamese Legacy Since 1857
The Soul of the Drip
Let’s be clear: this isn’t the delicate, fruity cup you’ll find on every UK high street. Vietnamese coffee is built differently. It was born in the 1850s from a collision of French influence and Vietnamese grit. It survived the humidity and the hustle of Hanoi by becoming the strongest thing on the street. We don’t do "subtle." We do strength.

The Secret: Why Condensed Milk?
In the heat of the tropics, fresh milk was a luxury. The Vietnamese adapted by using sweetened condensed milk, and in doing so, they stumbled upon a masterpiece. Because our coffee is so dark and intense, regular milk just gets lost. Condensed milk is different. It’s thick, creamy, and caramel-like. It doesn't just dilute the coffee; it battles the bitterness, cutting through the heavy roast to create a drink that tastes like liquid velvet. It’s the perfect balance of fire and silk.

The Robusta Powerhouse
While the world was being told that Arabica was the only way, Vietnam was perfecting the Robusta bean. Grown in the volcanic soil of the Central Highlands, our beans are the heavyweights of the coffee world.
-
Double the Caffeine: Robusta carries nearly twice the energy of standard beans.
-
The Profile: Dark cacao and toasted nuts with a heavy body that never tastes "watered down."
The Phin: No Shortcuts
The heart of our coffee is the Phin filter—a rugged stainless steel cup that sits right on top of your glass. No paper filters, no plastic pods, no complicated machines.
To truly honor this heritage, we believe the soul of the bean is best captured when ground to a medium consistency just minutes before meeting the Phin drip. This simple act ensures the balanced extraction and peak aroma that has defined Vietnamese coffee for generations.
You just add the coffee, the hot water, and let it drip. It takes five minutes. If you haven't got the patience for the ritual, you aren't ready for the result. The Phin produces a brew so dense it’s almost ink-like—the way coffee was meant to be.
Our Manifesto
Hanoi Drip exists for those who find standard coffee too thin and too boring. We bring the unfiltered, high-octane energy of the Hanoi Old Quarter directly to the UK.
Bold. Resilient. And absolutely not for the faint-hearted.
